Differentiated Math Fact Practice

Making Ten

4th Grade Resources

Staff Development for Educators First Grade Conference, San Marcos, Texas!

WOW. I had a great week at the SDE conference last week.

First if all the highlight of my time was getting to meet Reagan Tunstall.  Her blog, Tunstall Teaching Tidbits has had a huge impact on my teaching.  And....she is just so nice!  She knows her stuff and is amazing at sharing it with other educators.
I attended her session "How to Be a Guided Math Guru".  I have done guided math for a couple of years and was looking for some extra tips. Seeing how a MASTER does it was Amazing!
I loved her reflection pieces to help kids process their math thinking!
I had the pleasure of dining with Reagan, Cara Carroll from The First Grade Parade, Erica Borher from Erica's Ed-Ventures, and Jessica Travis from Wild About Firsties and her lovely husband. He was such a trooper dining out with five women!
We ate at Texas Roadhouse for a little steak  -- peanuts on the floor and all!
I also attend a couple of sessions with Cara Carroll.  She is such a gifted presenter!  Her knowledge and passion about teaching comes across in everything that she does.
How to help struggling writers.
I went to two of her session on writing.  I have always felt like teaching switing was one of my weaknesses.  I sure got lots o tips from these two sessions.
Add the chocolate Chips--add details!
And shared some feat resources for future reading!

Erica Bohrer and Jessica Travis
And then I get home, and I have this sweet note from one of my students!  I missed them.
Come back on February 14th for a great blog hop featuring some of my favorite blogger friends in Texas:
